Convert HEIF to JPG Online
Convert .heif images to JPG online. Same engine as our HEIC converter, since HEIC is simply Apple's flavour of HEIF.
Start ConvertingWhy Convert HEIF to JPG?
Not just an Apple problem
Android phones, Canon and Sony cameras all write HEIF now. Desktop software support is still patchy across all of them.
Nothing rejects a JPG
Every upload form, print service, photo frame and document tool accepts JPG. HEIF frequently fails silently.
Both extensions handled
The converter reads the actual file header rather than trusting the extension, so .heif and .heic are treated identically.
Bulk conversion
Convert a batch of camera exports at once and download the set as a single ZIP.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between HEIF and HEIC?
HEIF is the container standard. HEIC is Apple's name for HEIF holding HEVC-encoded images. Every HEIC is a HEIF, so both extensions convert identically here.
Why does my camera write HEIF instead of JPG?
HEIF holds roughly the same visible quality in about half the bytes, and supports 10-bit colour depth that JPG cannot represent.
Will I lose the 10-bit colour?
Yes. JPG is 8-bit only, so a 10-bit HEIF is reduced during conversion. On ordinary photos this is not visible, but it matters for heavy grading work.
Is my photo stored anywhere?
No. HEIF decoding needs the server, so the file is uploaded over HTTPS, converted in memory, and discarded. Nothing is written to disk.
