Your files

You keep every right you had in a file before you dropped it here. We claim nothing, store nothing and never look at it. By uploading, you confirm you have the right to convert that file, and that it contains no malware or malicious code.

Fair use

20 server files a day, 25 MB each, 10 at a time, with the daily count shared across converting and compressing and reset each day. Automating around those limits, or scripting the endpoints directly, is the one thing that will get an address blocked. We may adjust the limits at any time.

What you may not upload

Four things, and the list is short because it is the whole list.

• Files you have no right to convert or distribute.
• Malware, or files crafted to attack the conversion pipeline.
• Illegal content, including any sexual content involving minors.
• Automated bulk traffic that crowds out ordinary visitors.

Because files are not retained, we cannot recover or review anything after a job ends. Enforcement is limited to blocking abusive traffic.

No warranty

Conversions can fail, and a returned file can be wrong. Output fidelity is not guaranteed: format conversion is lossy by nature, so colour profiles, fonts, metadata and layout can all shift. One case is worth naming because we measured it ourselves: converting a Word document to PDF prints whatever the document is currently displaying, so accept or reject tracked changes and delete comments before converting anything sensitive. Check anything that matters before you rely on it, and keep your original. To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damage arising from use of the service, including data loss, file corruption or an interruption.

Availability

We aim to keep SwiftConverter up but do not guarantee uptime. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, and an individual feature may be off when the engine behind it is missing on the server. When that happens the page says so rather than failing quietly.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after a change is acceptance of the updated version.
