Will converting to PNG improve my image quality?
No. JPG compression already discarded detail and nothing can recover it. PNG stops any further loss, but it cannot undo what the JPG stage removed.
Why is the PNG so much larger than the JPG?
For photographs a PNG is typically 3 to 5 times larger. JPG throws away data to shrink the file; PNG keeps every pixel exactly. Expect a 2MB photo to land around 6 to 10MB.
Does the conversion upload my photos?

Will my JPG become transparent automatically?
